This Starbucks is teeny-tiny and overwhelmed. Starbucks needs to find a larger space in Canal Place. The staff here is so sweet and are lovely to their regulars. They work really hard, so throw a dang dollar in the tip jar! I don't drink a ton of Starbucks, as my employer provides gratis coffee, but they are in my building and I probably hop down once a week for a latte or an iced coffee. I've only had one experience with a not great tasting latte, but usally the drinks are well made. There is a small retail wall, that seems to only be shopped from at the holidays and a small bar with a couple stools, but I can't imagine wanting to sit in there when the line snakes and winds in that tiny space.

Very small and cramped. Workers were slow and unfriendly. No scanner to pay with your phone...she attempted to type in the correct info like 5 times so I could pay... Wasn't too impressed. My drink tastes good though hence the 3 stars. I did see a really cool Starbucks just up the street though and it is in an awesome and authentic looking building. So skip this one and go there!

3.5 stars for opening at 5:30 AM. I won't bore you with the mundane details that everyone already knows about Starbucks. This very small store is located on the South side of Canal Place and can be accessed via Iberville Street as well as through the 1st floor of the mall. Most people get their coffee and pastries to go at this location as there are only 4 stools and a counter if you want to sit inside. However, there are 5 tables outside on Iberville street if you are a sidewalk cafe kind of person. What I like about this location is that they open at 5:30 AM, which is perfect for me, as my job often has me downtown at this ridiculously early hour. They also stay open until 7:30 PM which is also a plus for those of us stuck at work past normal business hours. The staff is very friendly and there doesn't seem to be much employee turnover, as I recognize some familiar faces when I go there. However, be prepared for a line that sometimes spills outside onto Iberville Street during the morning rush hour.

Stopped here while shopping at Canal Place while in town. It's a very small location tucked away in the corner on the ground floor. The line builds up rather quickly and ,on the day I went, service was slower than molasses. There was one person taking orders and one barista on duty. I understand that locations can get slammed with orders but it was almost as if it was the barista's first day. He just moved very slowly. I couldn't order a java chip frappachino because they were out of java chips. So they may want to evaluate their ordering of supplies. I'm interested how service is when business is slow . Hopefully not the same and, if so, I would give him a break.

Worst Starbucks experience. They served FROZEN food and would't serve food that was in the display case because they would "save" it for friends coming later. They ran out of drinks multiple times. Further, there was chaos with too many people standing around in the back talking and not working. Management should be aware.

I'm not usually a Starbucks fan at all but, after hoofing it around the Quarter for French Quarter Fest, I decided to stop in here for an iced coffee to get my energy up. It worked like a charm and I went from dozing to having a pep in my step in no time. The set up of this store is nice enough and they woman who made my coffee for me was good at her job, in the sense that she didn't mess up my order. Other than that, yeah it's a Starbucks.

Staff was very genuinely friendly and accommodating. I ordered a lime refresher and didn't like it so a staff member happily made me a very berry hibiscus one instead. This is also a pretty large Starbucks. The only thing I didn't like were the bench seating directly in front of the registers. They were awkward and uncomfortable and directly in front of you are people ordering their drinks. Other than that this place is great.

I love going to Starbucks. The drinks are amazing, but this could be the worst Starbucks I have ever been too. Every person working her seemed unhappy and rude. There were empty boxes all around the area where you collect your drinks. When I paid, I was told I needed exact change. I spend around $10 and gave the women a $20 and she told me exact change or card only. Also a limited selection of whole coffee for sale.

During the height of my caffeine addiction I LOVED this place, not just for the coffee but the staff as well. I'd get to the register and my drink would already be made bc they remembered me and my order. I don't go in as much any more but everyone is still so nice when I so. The only negative about this place is the atmosphere but its in the mall so that's understandable.

On my travels on Canal Street I'd pass the downtown Sheraton Starbuck's sign. Today, I gave it a try. It is located at the Canal Street entrance. I came at a busy time. They were fast and too busy to be friendly. I had a choice of plush chairs, tables, and bar chairs overlooking Canal Street with the Marriott. I chose the bar chairs. I got plenty of sunlight, which probably kept my coffee warmer, and did some great people watching.

Beautiful store. Horrific service. Just waited in line for 28 minutes to get a bento coffee only then to be told there was no half & half by a dread headed barista who was to busy singing and cracking wise to his coworkers to do it politely. Called the manager as I left. She told me cream was on the way and told me she "understood" when I mentioned the lack of customer service. Sorry. Was really glad to see this place open but will gladly wait in line at one of the 5 others Starbucks within a few blocks before I return to this one. Apparently, it's more of an open mic comedy store than a real Starbucks.

I came here for the classic oatmeal (all 3 toppings please!) and the staff was super friendly. There are some bar stools inside the tiny Starbucks, or there are tables outside on the sidewalk or inside by the stores.

Free wifi. Nice seating. Pretty decent baristas. The two black girls had MAJOR attitude but I love my Starbucks so I'll be back. It's definitely wayyyyyy more expensive than my Starbucks at home. I can get a venti iced chai tea latte for 4.23 at home. I got a grande here for 5.81. Crazy!!!

This is the slowest Starbucks I have ever visited. There is always a line because it takes so long for them to take and make an order. It is ridiculous. Expect a 20-30 min wait for a line 8 people deep. It is usually faster to walk down Canal to the new Starbucks and order from there than to order from this place right next to your office. Horrible. When will the management staff this location with enough competent employees?

Fast and friendly Starbucks, better than some, on par with others.

Free wifi, lots of seats and a great location, what more can you say about Starbucks?

So I know I should support local brew over the corporate stuff but I just can't drink one more cup of CC's coffee-flavored water anymore. I work in the French Quarter and this Starbucks location is conveniently located a few blocks away in Canal Place. I don't know if it is because they are schooled in dealing with the hoity toity Saks folks all day but everyone that works here is so professional, swift, and friendly--they make ordering coffee a treat! I hate that they don't have a tip line on their credit/debit card receipts because I often forget to carry cash to tip and feel like an asshole. I definitely recommend this location for your afternoon pick-me-up!

Miserable People. They will take your money but not allow paying customers to use the restroom . They blame the size of the crowd 4 hours before parade time but somehow the size of the crowd is not keeping them from making thousands of dollars an hour. This store manager should be fired. You can put more people on your cash register but not to service your restroom ?

Be prepared: tiny space which leads to long lines. Friendly and efficient staff. There are probably better sit-down coffee places in the French Quarter, but this was near my hotel and wanted coffee to go. Still Starbucks is way better than PJs.

What can I say? I love Starbucks! Its my home away from home. This Starbucks is located inside the Sheraton hotel. They close early though so make sure to get here BEFORE 5pm otherwise you are out of luck! This is one of the few Starbucks that has the Starbucks cups (which has the city of New Orleans printed on the outside). Overall lots of seating and relatively fast service. No use having your Starbucks gold card here though. No free soy or syrup choices.

Product was as good as always (and over priced ) but the design and detail of the interior is amazing! Gorgeous walnut wood. trim and baseboards, colors are very complementary and a very cool brass musical instrument hanging sculpture in the adjacent sitting area captures the true essence of New Orleans.

New Orleans is not the kind of place to go to Starbucks (at least not in the French Quarter). This Starbucks (inside The Shops at Canal Place) is testament to why. Three different visits over five days uncovered a disorganized order-handling/drink-distribution process and some spoiled chai. Spoiled. As in bad. As in fermenting. As a Gold card-carrying Starbucks evangelist, this store left me nonplussed. The baristas were nice enough, but I suppose it's hard for them to deal with all the personalities that come along with the tourist crowd that I'm sure they almost exclusively see. I just didn't feel the love. Ever. Here's to improvement!

The staff here is nice and they're pretty efficient. The only problem was that they don't have a scanner for my Starbucks iPhone app, so I'd have to read off the number every time. The line gets pretty long in the mornings, but usually moves pretty quickly.

This is your typical small Starbucks. True, it's not "the thing to do" in the French Quarter. But, if you work at the Canal Place mall, at Westin, or in the office tower and frequent this Starbucks, like I do, the staff will remember your name and your regular order. That's all I ask for in a coffee shop.

It's a starbucks, but unlike some others the baristas here always have a frown. In the city that has housed amazing cafes since the really 19th century it's hard to jump on the Seattle-coffee train, we have our own style of cafe and it rocks. Anyone remember Kaldi's?
